This is an open blog and you are welcome to comment.
Parke and Donna Hedges are again hosting a great Sunday House Concert Series event at their wonderful place out in Shavano Park. We're so fortunate to have Jason scheduled again, he's one of the most unique and interesting singer/songwriters out there. This one-on-one time with him is going to be something very special. It'll be mentioned many times in these posts but here's all the time/date/place specifics:

Thanks for coming Jason. Thanks for wanting it so much Deirdre. To Chris Mackenzie for doing such a great job with the sound. Thanks to Parke and Donna Hedges for hosting it and just generally being so cool about everything. And thanks to everybody for coming, what a nice group of people we had.
I talked to a lot of the audience and the comments were wonderful to hear. People seemed to think it was just about perfect.
I loved how you could hear a pin drop during almost three hours of performances. And then all the long, hard applause between songs and standing ovation at the end... it was really respectful. I was proud of our crowd, they really "got" it.
It wasn't his main goal, making new fans was, but I think it was very much a financial success for Jason. Besides the money from the door, just about everybody bought his CDs. He had a line of people getting their CDs autographed. He definitely expanded his core of dedicated fans here in San Antonio and that was his desire.
And it was all a great step forward in the Sunday House Concert thing. We're going to do this maybe four times a year ourselves and encourage others to start doing it. We will continue with the plan to focus almost exclusively on San Antonio area songwriters but will bring in some inspiration like this every once in a while. With our guys on the bill just like we did this time with Mitch and Parke. Who both kicked ass.
Several people walked up and asked "How could you top this?". I said we're not in the toppin' business. :) Parke said that seeing Jason raises the songwriting and the performance bar but that's the best thing that could happen. Jason is a great example in the way he reaches out to people. I know there were several performers and songwriters in the audience that he inspired yesterday. To make this effort worthwhile it has to be good on many levels, meaning good for different people for different reasons. Yesterday was like that.
My buddy Art is a great songwriter and he was jazzed. I was so glad he was there. He left looking like he was rushing home to write a couple of new songs that night.
Anyway, thanks to everybody for coming. We'll see you at the next one.
