Take a listen!
I bet not everyone has heard these so here's a couple of obscure Jason Wilber cuts to get you psyched up. There's about ten of his songs that are tied for my favorite but I'm hoping he'll play at least one of these tomorrow. He didn't write "Killing The Blues" but I've included it because I've heard several people record it but no-one does it even close to as good has him. Obviously his songwriting is great and he's a great singer and musician but his unique production style is another dimension to appreciate. Nothing else I've heard quite sounds like it. I've held it up over the last couple of years to audio engineers working for me and to many other people in the industry as an example of a cool anti-Nashville, all Americana sound. Listen once and then go back and listen to each of the components, like just to the drums. It's all very natural and sparse and very cool. How he came to make records that sound like this was my first question to him in our first phone call. Let's ask him a lot more about that tomorrow.
1. I Can't See You Anymore
2. The Ballad Of Amazing Grace And Sideshow Dan
3. Killing The Blues

Comments seem to get buried...
thought I'd unearth Jason's comment and bring it back up to the top:
Come join us June 11th for a relaxing evening of acoustic music in lovely San Antonio. I think we're going to have a lot of fun at this show.
I'll be in the area playing lead guitar with John Prine, Friday in San Antonio and Saturday in Houston. Then I'll be coming back to San Antonio on Sunday for this solo concert, where I'll be singing songs from all of my CDs, including some from my 2 newest CDs that are coming out this year: Live and Otherwise Volume 1, and Lazy Afternoon.
If you'd like to hear some of my music and get a free CD, visit: www.jasonwilber.com or www.myspace.com/jasonwilber. You are also welcome to email me with any of your comments or questions. You'll find a contact link at the bottom of each page of my website at www.jasonwilber.com
I hope we'll see you then!
Thank you,
Jason Wilber

Who's coming?
I know that most of our unusual suspects have hit this site and emailed a confirmation and probably aren't needing to check back to this page BUT if you are one of the people who got handed a poster at the John Prine concert on Friday night, you can surely make a comment here and RSVP. We're really excited about seeing new faces tomorrow - expanding the circle is part of the benefit. I don't expect to still be getting much traffic to this blog this late in the game but if you happen by today and have a list of who you're bringing, put it in a comment here just for fun.
You TOO can put your arm around Jason Wilber
We're counting down 26 hours to the VERY COOL house concert tomorrow. We have room for you and we really, really want you to come but please email a confirmation to johnwhipple@gmail.com so we don't overbook ourselves. This photo is my sister Deirdre backstage at the John Prine concert in San Antonio last night. Jason was very gracious to her and I can tell from talking to him that he's really looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow afternoon. He's not only a real talent but a real cool person. This is going to be a lot of fun!

Important update to Jason Wilber House Concert Plans
If you received one of these flyers, do NOT bring a desert. Please. We don't want to criticize anyone's cooking but they tend to be very dry. And unwieldy. Sahara or Death Valley, leave them at home. Desserts and snacks of less than two square feet are what we want to share....... and the more the better! Sitting around the living room listening to music makes a person hungry for a veggie tray or apple crisps.
